“Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society with over 88,000 student members in more than 1800 schools. We are dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.” (Mu Alpha Theta)

Fairfield Christian Academy is the only school in Fairfield County with a chapter of Mu Alpha Theta. To have a chapter, schools must offer Algebra, Geometry and at least one higher level mathematics course. The school must have a teacher whose primary education was in mathematics including calculus. Fairfield Christian Academy offers Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Statistics as the higher level courses. More details regarding school eligibility can be found on the Mu Alpha Theta website. 

In order to be eligible for induction into FCA’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, students must have a Math GPA of 3.5 or above, have completed Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II and currently be enrolled in a higher level mathematics course.
